Just checked the map and found out the ride is approximately 575 miles for me. I figure a 'liesurely' 2 day ride. I have not gone out riding for more than 2 or 3 hours at time, so this would be a big trip for me.
I have never been to a ralley, so let me ask a question about whether or not the following is 'acceptable' behavior. First I was thinking of dragging the kids since this represents potential vacation time for us. Second, and this is the wimpy part: I was thinking of renting a trailer and towing the bike with the car and kids. Another option is that my older daughter can drive the car and I can be the man and ride the bike(Roho air cushion order, here I come.).
Meet you guys and gals from the west in Arkansas somewhere on I-30 (haven't look at the map too carefully but I think it intersects with US59).
Also, I would not mind doing this over a long weekend, it saves me a vacation day off.
